She is a skilled environmental and climate change professional deeply committed to advancing sustainable development through research, training, and capacity building, particularly in environmental governance, climate-smart practices, and inclusive energy systems.
Mercy holds a Master of Science in Climate Change and Agroforestry. She is a NEMA-licensed EIA and EA Expert and a GRI-certified trainer in Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting. Additionally, Mercy holds a Certificate in Just Transition for African Policymakers and has completed specialised training in Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS), equipping her to provide strategic guidance on policy development, impact assessments, and sustainability reporting. Her training provides a strong interdisciplinary foundation for tackling the interconnected challenges of climate change, land use, and natural resource management. She has led and facilitated numerous training programs aimed at enhancing institutional and community capacity for environmental compliance, climate adaptation, and low-carbon development.
Mercy has worked with government agencies, civil society organisations, and local communities to promote environmentally sound practices, strengthen policy frameworks, and build resilience in the face of climate change. Her work is driven by a passion for environmental justice, participatory development, and evidence-based decision-making.
