Green Africa Foundation’s vision of a Green Africa can best be best realized at an early age, by imprinting environmental conservation in the minds of young children.
1.Environmental Awareness Programmes
Through the Green Schools Project, the Foundation has promoted environmental conservation awareness in Kenyan schools, by incorporating environmental educational programmes and tree-planting in schools.
More than a million tree-seedlings have been planted and distributed in schools, this year. We also established tree-nurseries in these areas.
One successful project is the:
Bamburi Larfarge Cement Company entered a joint venture with us to raise seedlings and monitor the project. In 2008 alone over 40,000 seedlings were distributed to over 30 schools. We have elaborate nurseries all over the country which handles over 500,000 seedlings every rainy season.
