This is the production and use of energy that has minimal effects on the environment, energy which is sustainable and affordable at community level. Green Africa Foundation works with communities to offer solutions that contributes to environmental sustainability and poverty alleviation. Such initiatives include biofuels, solar energy, charcoal briquettes and the use of energy cook stoves.
Through biofuel project, the foundation focuses on cultivation and processing of jatropha oil, and environmentally safe, cost effective renewable source of non conventional energy and a promising substitute for diesel, kerosene, fuel wood, charcoal, LPG among others.
The foundation also works with schools and communities in ASAL areas to supply solar lanterns and energy saving cook stoves.
